My God - My Everything - cont.

Previous

My goal for the first race was to run the entire distance, no walking. I did it and to my surprise won 1st place in my age range. That challenged me to set my goal higher and so I committed to a half marathon that I would run a year later. Not only did My Trainer provide the training plan, but he also provided friends like John, Carolyn and Jodi as mentors. John would fly by me at the green belt and he always had a smile and offered running tips. Carolyn always celebrated my progress with encouraging words and Jodi coached me about the hill I would encounter half way through the race. All of them shared from their personal experiences and I appreciated every word.

On the day of the race I was as ready as I would ever be. My goal again was to run the entire distance and complete the race with a time less than two hours and twenty minutes. Just before the large hill in the middle of the course I was running by myself. That's hard to imagine when there were over 1000 people running that day. But for a few moments nobody was running near me and I had this feeling of being all alone. During that moment I heard, "I'm with you," from My Trainer and that motivated me to finish the race running the whole distance and in a time of two hours and nineteen minutes. As I crossed the finish line I kept saying to myself, "Thank you God, Thank you God," I knew it was because of My Trainer that I finished the race.10

One area of my life that God has never ceased to amaze me in is being My Provider. He has provided me with a wonderful husband and two sons. He has provided my family with a home, food, jobs and health. Financially there has been many times that the only explanation for the bills getting paid is because of My Provider. He said in his word that he would provide all our needs12  and he has done that and more.

All of this reconfirms my belief in a loving God. Only an all powerful, ever present and all knowing God would be able to take care of each and every detail in our lives. We don't know how many days we have in this life, but he does. He knows what will happen today, tomorrow and from now through eternity. Why not make the most of every moment you have? Invite the one who is pursuing a relationship with you and wants to experience life with you into your life today.

As for me, there are many other areas in my life that I have yet to experience all that God has for me, but based on his faithfulness13  with the ones I have, the rest of my life is guaranteed to be a wonderful adventure with My God who is My Everything.

Hebrews 12:1-2  NIV

" Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. "
